Israel 2.0

June 3-13, 2020

Wish you could return to Israel and visit additional biblical sites you did not see on your first tour of the land? Now is your chance! Under the direction of two experienced Bible teachers, this life-changing tour will pay careful attention to the biblical relevance of the sites and artifacts of Israel that are usually missed on one’s first tour of the Holy Land. This strong biblical emphasis on the authority and accuracy of the Word of God will allow you to have “devotions with your feet” as the Scriptures turn from black and white to Technicolor!

Haifa, Israel

Meals:  Lunch and Dinner

Arrive at the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.  We will then board our bus to travel to Haifa, the third largest city of Israel.  After a quick city tour, we will have an opportunity to freshen up at our hotel–the Bay Club.  The evening will entail a wonderful dinner at the hotel and a chance to walk around the city.

Friday, June 5
Haifa, Israel

Meals:  Breakfast and Dinner

After breakfast, we will travel to Haifa’s ancient port, Akko or Acre.  This site was one of locations which the Israelites were unable to conquer (Judges 1:31).  The port city was ruled by numerous entitles, such as the Hasmoneans, Cleopatra, and even Herod the Great.  The focus of our tour will center upon the Crusader Castle.  These incredible ruins recall a glorious past–a past when Akko served as the chief port of the Kingdom of Jerusalem.  A highlight of our time in Akko will be visiting the Rosh Hanikra.  Mentioned in Joshua 13:6, this geologic formation is located on the border between Israel and Lebanon, located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, in Western Galilee.

Today’s tour entails the scenic Mt. Carmel range and Jezreel Valley.  We will be sure to visit the ancient site of Jezreel, the home of King Ahab’s glorious palace (1 Kings 18), and Ein Harod, the springs where Gideon selected his 300 fighters (Judges 7).  After lunch, we will visit one of the finest ancient ruins known to exist in the Middle East, Beit She’an.  This massive site bears both Old and New Testament significance.  After exploring Beit She’an, we will travel to Jerusalem via the Jericho Road.  Upon arrival, we will check into one of Jerusalem’s finest hotels, the Mt. Zion Hotel.

The Rockefeller Museum

Meals: Breakfast

Today we will explore Jerusalem.  Our day will begin with a visit to the City of David.  Our attention will center upon discoveries found within the last five years.  Of course, our tour of the Old City would not be complete without an opportunity to wade through Hezekiel’s tunnel or walk through the Cannaanite tunnel–the very route Zedekiah took when he fled from the Babylonians.  We will also visit the Citadel and have the unique opportunity to view where scholars believe Jesus was scourged.  After lunch, we will visit the newly renovated Rockefeller Museum.  Recently acquired by the Israel Museum, these facilities house several significant biblical artifacts.  The afternoon will then be free for shopping, personal sightseeing, or relaxing at the hotel.
